Week 2

The state of Alabama has two initiative programs to better its educational outreaches. Alabama Learning Exchange or better known as ALEX is a great tool for teachers all over the state. Once you enter the website, the setup is very effective and easily navigated. This program was set up to help teachers in their classrooms with lessons plans, objectives that have to be taught, web links for faculty and students, and even tips and options for professional growth. This site is one of a kind and very effective for all teachers.
Alabama Connecting Classroom, Educators and Students Statewide, ACCESS, was designed to provide opportunities and options for Alabama public high school students to engage in Advanced Placement, elective, and other courses to which they may not otherwise have access to. It is a distance learning program that allows the students to do work from another teacher at another school. This is a great resource that is being acknowledge by more and more schools. It is a great advantage for the children to have these opportunities.
ALEX is very useful to me as a Pre-K teacher right now. As I was looking through the website I found many lesson plans that will go great with different units I am teaching throughout the year. I love the fact that the lesson plans come from teachers, so you know that they are well thought out and can actually be done by the children. I am very pleased with this website and am very excited about sharing it with the other teachers at my school.

I'm glad to hear from someone who's used this resource already. It looks really useful!
